While it's arguably off-topic, I'll just add that Godot is free and open-source, so there's really no marketing to get upset about, and no reason not to give other gamedev apps a shot. Being exposed/versed in multiple tools is never a bad thing. Cross-pollination of ideas, and all that.:) I use a wide variety of tools depending on the job-C2 being my environment of choice-and I appreciate other suggestions.as long as they're honest and not being shoved down someone's throat.As for C2, Steam sales are one way to get it. Scirra also has occasional game jams and other contests with other websites like Newgrounds where they'll give away a copy, often the Business Edition. I expect that they will have a few more random C2 sales and contests as work on C3 continues, too.:)Welcome to the C2 family.:).

I'm attending a game design course and we already made a game with Construct 2 free version; I liked Counstruct 2 so much that I decided to buy a personal license, is there a way to know when or where a personal license for C2 is on sale?

I hope I didn't come off as hostile, no disrespect to Godot. But from my point of view at that moment it felt like YET ANOTHER engine where you have to extensively code for weeks or months in Java, or Python, or C to achieve simple results.I know that's the norm, but they are a dime a dozen. With C2 you can achieve SO much with only 'if this then that' and learning the UI in 15 minutesNo disrespect, more competition is good for all engines.

I hope Godot finds it's niche. And I hope experienced game devs find it's unique features useful. Absolutely no offense taken! I find Godot to be pretty unique, overall, given the free & open-source nature of it, and the node-based approach to development. Development is done in a Python-like scripting language that's really easy to learn and use, btw, and there are certainly a number of graphical-development features. They've recently added a slew of 2D features including 2D shaders/lighting, too.I like to think that innovations in these spaces directly affect the future of engines like C2.

Which is why I follow many and use some of them. Even Gamemaker offers a few features I'd like to see in C2, like code blocks where I can directly write scripts if I choose to do so (strictly as an option, of course!).Overall, I agree that there are a lot of IDEs and dev environments out there. There is certainly no shortage of Javascript and HTML5 engines in particular. C2 certainly hasn't managed to capture all of the best features from Classic, but did offer a lot of other great features I've grown to really appreciate.

I'm curious to see where C3 goes!.
